Water use reduction strategies include:
- Installing water efficient fixtures in restrooms in the terminals
- Converting turf to native, drought-tolerant landscaping
- Reducing irrigation frequency to twice a week
- Using weather-based irrigation controllers
- Adding purple piping to bring reclaimed water to airport facilities
- Using reclaimed water for dust control during construction
- Requiring all new construction to be compatible with reclaimed water use.
